Deacon Mission Statement
The Deacons of Crescent Springs Presbyterian Church are called to serve the congregation by
ministering to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in
distress. As Deacons we will help our congregation care, shepherd, nurture, visit, pray, organize
and arrange for its spiritual needs by encouraging the sharing of gifts and the offering of mutual
support. The office of Deacon, as set forth in Scripture, is one of sympathy, witness, and service
after the example of Jesus Christ.
CSPC deacons are very much involved in visiting, sending cards and providing care and concern
for those who are not able to participate in active worship. They organize covenant groups to
promote individual spiritual growth and send “care” packages to remind college students that
their church misses and cares for them. Births and deaths of CSPC members are recognized
and honored with flowers. Deacons also work with families who have lost loved ones and
organize a meal to ease the burden during their time of loss.
