CSPC's IHN Night - Volunteer Information
Directions to St. Agnes:
St. Agnes is on Dixie Highway in Ft. Wright. From I-75 take Kyles Lane exit. Turn west off the
exit onto Kyles. Follow Kyles to Dixie Hwy. Turn right onto Dixie at stoplight. Follow Dixie to next
light at Sleepy Hollow. Turn left onto Sleepy Hollow. Drive just past the church and turn right
down Old State Road and take first right into parking lot. Approach the 3-story building on the
right and go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs use the lock box (obtain combination from
Billie Grant, Debbie Daly, Dawn Miller or Stephanie Boyd) there is a key inside. Use the key and
enter the hallway. Enter and turn right into kitchen. There is sometimes a note with special
instructions on the bulletin board. IHN uses the 1st and 3rd floors.
Volunteer Duties:
Housekeepers
Housekeeping should be completed between 7 am and 3 pm. Duties include:
-doing dishes/emptying dishwasher
-cleanup dining room/living room areas
-dining tables and kitchen counters should be cleaned
-stripping and making host beds
-laundering linens and putting away any clean linens in the 3rd floor closet
Do not do any housekeeping in guest rooms - only host rooms. Two host rooms are upstairs:
the first room is just on the right and the other is at the end of the hall on the right. If you start a
load of wash you can leave a note for dinner hosts to put the laundry into dryer.
Cooks/Meal Prep
Should make enough of your dish for the number of guests indicated plus dinner hosts.
Dishes should be taken to CSPC by 4:15 pm or dropped off directly to St. Agnes by 4:45 pm.
Cleaned dishes will be returned to CSPC.
Dinner hosts
Should arrive between 4:45 pm and 5:15 pm to get ready for dinner which is served at 5:15 pm.
Need to set the table, get the food ready for serving, get drinks ready, etc. The hosts should
greet the guests as they arrive. Make sure guests have a chance to wash their hands. Pray
together (ask the guests if they would like to offer a prayer). The hosts serve the dinner and sit
down to eat with the guests. Guests and hosts cleanup together. Start dishwasher. After
cleanup guests should begin packing lunches for the next day.
Activity/Game Hosts
Should arrive by 7 pm. Need to entertain children with games or outdoor activities. Children
must be supervised by a parent or volunteer at all times. Playroom and living/dining room
areas are open for activities. Snacks can be provided by the activity hosts.
Children under 10 yrs old should begin preparing for bed by 8:30 pm and in bed by 9 pm. Other
children in bed by 10 pm and adults by 11 pm. Overnight hosts should arrive by 9 pm. When
children go to bed at least one parent must be upstairs with them. Parents can use the TV on
the 3rd floor.
