Operation Helmet
Operation Helmet is non-profit organization that provides helmet upgrade kits to our military forces
deployed or deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, or other dangerous locales. This is at no cost to the
Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine. They depend on your generous donations.
Bombs Kill More Troops Than Bullets
Over 65% of combat-related morbidity/mortality is due to bomb blasts. It is more important than ever
to provide our troops with the best protection available. The basic helmet provided to our service
men and women does not protect them from these bomb blasts. The helmet upgrade kits
decrease blast effects and save the lives of our military heroes.
The BLSS kit is a stable, pain-free, safer, waterproof, self-wicking, positively buoyant, air
permeable, reduces sound reverberation and is installed without any helmet shell modifications. It
includes an improved four-point chin strap/harness with an integrated nape pad and seven highly
engineered pads that replace the PASGT helmet web liner.
Helmet shock transmission is reduced dramatically. Top impact was reduced from 219G's to 72G's
and side impact from 160's to 87G's. The kit also makes the helmet more comfortable and stable.
Troops tend to wear a helmet longer and more often when it doesn’t hurt!

For under $100, a kit can be purchases that could save a life! Donated funds can be specified to
